I think Federation is a very good idea, but do not reinvent the wheel and use ActivityPub, so further integrations will fit into the existing federation.
So someone could for example subscribe to a question by following it and gets new answers in his Mastodon or Friendica Timeline. When he authenticated his Fediverse account against his Codidact or TopAnswers account, he could even comment on the new answers to his question with the reply function of his social network.
